Overview
The life of Park Slope United Methodist Church is centered in worship. Twice a week, in the Sunday Morning Worship Service and the Taizé Service of Evening Prayer, worshipers gather to hear the Word, to feel the shaping influence of community, to sing songs of praise.
Both of PSUMC's worship services, though quite different, are filled with vitality and vibrancy. Wherever you are on your journey of faith we invite you to participate fully in the singing of hymns, offering of prayers, and sharing around the Lord’s table.
Sunday Service
Worship at PSUMC is filled with joy and wholehearted participation. “Black and white, straight and gay, old and young (our creed),” we sing, listen to scripture, are challenged through sermons and sent out in service to the World. A spirit of warm welcome and hospitality suffuses the service. More about Sunday Service
Taizé Evening Prayer
Every Wednesday at 7:30 pm, PSUMC conducts a candlelit, meditative service based on the style of the Taizé monastic community in Burgundy, France. The service consists of elegantly simple modern chants sung repetitively or in a round, a brief reading of Scripture, a long period of peaceful silence, and intercessory prayer. Music, Choir and Arts Program
The music and arts ministry at PSUMC is vibrant and thriving. We have a Choir which sings everything from Bach to gospel rock. We’ve even done a few anthems in sign language. More about Music, Choir and Arts Program
