Ash Wednesday Taize Service, March 1, 7:30 PM
About Ash Wednesday
In the early years of the church, Ash Wednesday developed as a day of penitence to mark the beginning of Lent- the forty days of preparation for the celebration of Easter. Ash Wednesday is a particular time for new beginnings in the faith, a time for returning to God. On this day we use ashes to recall our mortality and to wait upon God for a renewing Spirit. It is a time for putting aside the failures of the past in light of who we are yet to become by the grace of God.
Join us Wednesday evening as we begin Lent.
